£5,000 in compensation recovered for Miss X in a claim against her local NHS trust for a misdispensing error which occurred in hospital following the birth of her baby.

Whilst in hospital Miss X was incorrectly dispensed an anti malaria tablet as opposed to her anti psychotic medication and this error went unnoticed for 4 days during which time her condition deteriorated dramatically.

Despite being immediately placed back on the anti psychotic medication Miss X did not fully recover for a number of weeks.

The Defendant admitted at an early stage that they had made an error and after negotiations damages were recovered in the sum of £5,000.
